Y Dref Werdd has an environmental side of the lottery project that’s been split into three parts, where volunteering opportunities can be offered.
- We safeguard local rivers by ensuring that there’s no pollutants accumulate in the water systems and wildlife has a place to flourish. Click here to read further.
- Y Dref Werdd also controls the non-native invasive species Rhododendron ponticum in the Bro Ffestiniog area because of the long term damage it has on native plants and animals. As Blaenau Ffestinog is not included in Snowdonia National Park their officers cannot include the area into their projects. Click here to read further.
- The third part of the environmental side of the project is to develop community green spaces within the Bro Ffestiniog area for the wellbeing of the community and inhabitants. We’re currently working on three different spaces in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Tanygrisiau and Llan Ffestiniog. You can learn more about them by clicking here.
