During last summer Y Dref Werdd held a ‘Cynefin a Chymuned i Blant’, Habitat and Community for children, with young members of the Bro Ffestiniog community. Activities were arranged with local experts so that the importance of the environment, local history could be conveyed to the children and why it’s still relevant today.
A few years ago, Antur Stiniog Cyf developed a course for adults called ‘Cynefin a Chymuned’, a course which looked at history, heritage, wildlife and environment within the Bro Ffestiniog area and surrounding locales within Eryri. Antur Stiniog began training local people in various outdoor activities like mountaineering, Nordic walking and cycling, with the hope that the participants will utilise them in the future.
By utilising these individuals that attended the original ‘Cynefin a Chymuned’ we’ve created ‘Cynefin a Chymuned i Blant so that they can then pass on their knowledge to the next generation.
Our aim is to raise awareness of the environment that the Bro Ffestiniog youth have been raised in by mixing education with fun.
