Y Dref Werdd - Gwydion

Gwydion

Gwydion is responsible for the day to day running of the project and has been working for Y Dref Werdd since 2007. He is responsible for supporting the staff in developing th projects, the project’s finances and provides the project’s Board of Directors with updates on the project and any developments in regular board meetings.

Gwydion is originally from Croesor and lived in Blaenau for nearly 10 years and now lives with his partner in Porthmadog. He has two children, Caleb, 7, and Elenid, 3, and loves spending as much time with them as possible.

He enjoys most outdoor activities, particularly climbing, running and walking in the mountains and also loves to travel.

Y Dref Werdd - Meilyr

Meilyr

Meilyr is originally from Dolgellau but now lives in Caernarfon with his partner and two children.

Matters concerning energy and the environment have always engaged and enraged Meilyr.

In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, fiddling with electronic musical equipment and playing the piano badly.

Y Dref Werdd - Daniel

Daniel

Daniel is responsible for the environmental projects for Y Dref Werdd since 2016, which includes controlling the rhododendrons in the Bro Ffestiniog area, protecting our rivers, develop local green areas while also offering volunteering and training opportunities for local residents.

Daniel still lives in Bontnewydd after being raised in the village outside of Caernarfon. He’s taken part in conservation work for a number of years while studying Zoology in Cardiff University.

His interests include football, rugby, golf and of course the outdoors. For leisure he enjoys going for walks with his dogs, Sion a Siân including reading books.

Non

Non has been working as Y Dref Werdd’s Contact Officer since October 2016, and is responsible for engaging with the community, the administration work, assisting with energy and environmental projects and dealing with enquiries in the shop.

She has lived in Blaenau most of her life, loves living in the mountains in such a close knit community and could not think of a better place to bring up her three children.

In her spare time, she enjoys walking, gardening and cooking.
